A poem by Sierra Clayton
How does it feel to be different?
How does it feel to hide from the world?
How does it feel to be a person’s shadow?
How does it feel to put a mask over your face?
How does it feel to be misplaced?
How does it feel to cry at night?
How does it feel to wake up in a fright?
How does it feel when your days are so long?
How does it feel to have the spirit of a sad song?
How does it feel not to have a helping hand?
How does it feel to be excluded from man?
How does it feel to be denied in your own time?
The opinion of others just control your mind.
How does it feel to just want to disappear?
To let go of every hurt or fear...
How does it feel to just want to run away?
And forget of all the problems of tomorrow and today.
How does it feel to be different?
