When Alexis Hawkins learned that she became WOO's 39th graduate to earn her GED, she said, "To me this means that I have the opportunity to have the diploma which I missed out on
in high school. Getting a GED means a second chance at going to college. I'm thinking about... studying forensic science...where I could help law enforcement and help people out. I like science and working in labs, and figuring out puzzles and how to solve things. If I complete college, then I can get my job and I won't be taken care of by the government any longer. I would like to help my momma out more because she is struggling so much."
"My family is very proud of me. They were glad that I accomplished something that was easy for me and which they knew that I could do all along."
